During their time at Southwood, Greg developed a strong foundation in artistic practice and public art, culminating in painting a mural from March to June 2024 at Southwood that reflects both creative vision and community engagement. In 2024, Greg also authored and published a children’s book titled The Chronicles of Pluto, a narrative driven by imaginative storytelling and illustration that showcases their literary and artistic talent. According to listings on publishers’ platforms, Chronicles of Pluto is available as an e-book on Amazon, highlighting their early achievement in published authorship. (Amazon) All sales from this book was donated to Nicklaus Children's Hospital Children’s Cancer and Animal Rescue.
In addition to visual and literary arts, Greg has contributed graphic design work to cultural and musical organizations. In 2024, they designed the logo for the Miami chapter of HaZamir: The International Jewish Teen Choir, part of the Zamir Choral Foundation—a nonprofit that fosters Jewish choral music and youth engagement through its nationwide chapters. (HaZamir) Beyond these specific projects, Greg has created numerous portraits of peers and continues to study both design and fine arts, blending traditional techniques with contemporary visual communication. Their diverse portfolio reflects a commitment to artistic growth, community involvement, and creative expression across multiple media.
the life of an aspiring musician
Greg Eisenson is an active and versatile musical artist within the Jewish and broader performance community, serving as a cantorial soloist at Kehillah on the Beach with the Cuban Hebrew Congregation in Miami Beach, where they contribute their voice to Friday night Shabbat services and community musical events. Kehillah on the Beach is a growing Jewish spiritual community hosted at the historic Cuban Hebrew Congregation, with services led by Rabbi/Cantor Rachelle Nelson, known for her long career as a cantor, composer of Jewish liturgical music, and pioneer as the first female cantor to serve synagogues in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Nelson’s musical leadership and composition work are widely respected in Jewish communities nationwide, and she guides the musical worship in services that Greg supports. In addition to their cantorial work, Greg has performed in concerts and special events, including a recent duet of “Walking in the Air” with Sarah Brightman during the Winter Symphony tour in Miami and Naples—an achievement that highlights their vocal performance skills in crossover classical and popular repertoire (as reported in current concert listings for Sarah Brightman’s Winter Symphony). (WGCU PBS & NPR for Southwest Florida) They study voice with Manny Perez, a highly regarded Miami-based vocal coach and Director of Vocal Studies known for mentoring singers who perform on major opera and concert stages, and who also teaches within cantorial circles. (miamimusicfestival.com) As a Jewish artist, Greg’s cantorial singing and participation in worship services reflect a deep connection to Jewish tradition and community life, using music to enhance spiritual experiences and celebrate heritage.
